A selection of models, unlimited code completions and next edit suggestions, and 1,500 GitHub AI Credits a month: 1,000 base credits plus a 500-credit flex allotment that can change over time.
Everything in Copilot Pro+ with priority access to premium models and GitHub's highest individual allowance: 20,000 GitHub AI Credits a month, 10,000 base credits plus a 10,000-credit flex allotment.
GitHub Copilot has three paid plans for individuals: Copilot Pro, Copilot Pro+ and Copilot Max. You can subscribe on github.com or with an in-app purchase in the GitHub Mobile app, and the price can differ by channel. Our table shows GitHub's web prices next to the App Store prices in every storefront. Every price below names its channel, tax basis, billing period and the date we checked it.

Before-tax values are computed from the official standard rate. They are not store prices and never decide a "cheapest" statement.

Tax bases differ between countries; each row shows its own.
Each store charges the price of the country your account or payment method belongs to. Changing that country is governed by the store's and the vendor's terms. This table compares official prices; it is not a guide to switching.
Price history
Every price PlanPrice recorded for the selected plan and country, per channel. Solid lines are periods in which we saw a price; a dashed line joins two prices across the interval in which the change happened.

Free Copilot for students, teachers and maintainers
Verified students get Copilot Student at no cost. Verified teachers and maintainers of popular open-source projects may be eligible for Copilot Pro for free.
On every paid plan, code completions and next edit suggestions are unlimited and do not consume AI credits. Your base credits are used first, then the flex allotment, so a lighter plan may cover you if most of your use is completions.
It depends on the channel. GitHub's Copilot plans page does not say whether its prices include tax, so our table marks those web prices with an unknown tax basis. Apple shows App Store prices with tax included everywhere except the US and Canada, where tax is added at checkout. Our table labels every price with its tax basis.
Copilot measures agent mode, code review, the cloud agent, Copilot CLI and the Copilot app in AI credits, and different models use credits at different rates. Each paid plan has base credits that never change plus a flex allotment that GitHub can adjust over time. When you use up your allowance, you can buy more usage and keep going.
Should I subscribe on the web or in the GitHub app?
Compare the prices first. If you buy Copilot Pro, Pro+ or Max with an in-app purchase in GitHub Mobile, you cannot buy additional AI credits through GitHub Mobile. On Copilot Free, GitHub Mobile offers the upgrade as an in-app purchase when you reach the usage limit.
On github.com, open Settings, then Billing & licensing, and under GitHub Copilot choose Manage subscription, then Cancel subscription. You keep your features until the billing cycle ends and then move to Copilot Free. Plans granted for free to students, teachers and maintainers cannot be cancelled. If you are later given a Copilot Business or Enterprise seat, your personal plan is cancelled automatically.
Yes. Copilot Free includes up to 2,000 code completions a month and limited chat and agent usage, with automatic model selection only. It is not available if you already get Copilot through an organization or another plan.
