How we collect and compare prices
Every number on PlanPrice names its channel, tax basis, billing period, the date it was read and its source. This page explains the rules behind them.
What we show
Prices of consumer AI subscription plans as sold through each official channel: the vendor's own website (Web), Apple's App Store and Google Play. Each price is the standard price for new subscribers in that country, in the currency the channel charges.
Resellers, shared accounts and gift-card offers are never listed.
How prices are read
App Store prices come from each country's public App Store listing. Web prices come from the vendor's pricing page as shown in that country. Google Play publishes one price range for all in-app items of an app, so it appears as a range, never as a plan price, unless an item is matched to a plan with evidence.
Every price keeps its source page, the time it was read, the collector that read it and a SHA-256 fingerprint of the raw evidence. Open "Evidence" next to any price to see them.
Freshness
An App Store price counts as current for 36 hours after it was read, a web price for 8 days and a Google Play range for 8 days. After that it is labelled "Stale" and no longer shown as a current number, even when nothing new was read.
Labels
Verified: read within its freshness window. Stale: the last verified price is older than that window. Unverified: a price was read but could not be confirmed. No price data: we have no accepted price. No price recorded: we have no verified official price for this plan, channel and billing period.
When we call a channel the cheapest
We compare only verified prices for the same plan, country and billing period, in one currency and with the same known tax basis, at the standard price for new subscribers.
We say "cheapest official option" only when every channel the product is sold through in that country is verified. Otherwise we name the channels we compared and the ones we could not. Converted amounts never decide a "cheapest" statement.
Price level
Next to the verdict, the price level says whether a price is low, typical or high for that plan and channel compared with every other tracked country: the lowest third is low, the highest third is high. Countries are ranked at the ECB euro reference rates of the date shown, and at least five countries with a rate are needed. It is orientation, never a "cheapest" statement.
Annual billing
Annual billing is compared with monthly billing only on the same channel, in the same currency and with the same known tax basis. The annual total, paid upfront, is always shown with its monthly equivalent. When only one channel offers annual billing, the page says so.
Currency conversion
Prices in other currencies are converted with the European Central Bank euro reference rates, and the rate date is shown. Conversions are for reference only. Currencies without an ECB rate, such as the New Taiwan dollar, are not converted.
Tax
Each price shows the tax basis its channel states: tax included, tax excluded, or unknown when the channel does not say. We do not add or remove tax ourselves.
Independence
PlanPrice is independent and not affiliated with OpenAI, Anthropic, Apple or Google. There are no ads and no affiliate links. We never link to VPNs, address generators, foreign-account services or resellers.
