Which plans you can choose depends on the country: the US, UK and German articles list Standard with ads, Standard and Premium, while India's lists Mobile, Basic, Standard and Premium. Netflix bills every plan monthly. It says you may be charged taxes in addition to the membership price depending on where you live, so the tax basis of every Netflix price here is unknown. Each price also names its channel, billing period and the date we checked it.

Netflix says its ad-supported experience lets you watch at a lower price. Most movies and TV shows are included, with commercial breaks in most of them; ad-supported plans are not offered in every country.
The plans differ mainly in how many devices can watch at once and in picture quality: where it is offered, Mobile covers one phone or tablet in SD and Basic one device in HD, Standard covers two devices in Full HD, and Premium four devices in 4K and HDR.
Changing to a lower-priced plan takes effect on your next billing date, and you keep the features of your current plan until then.

No. Netflix bills its plans monthly on the date you signed up and says it does not offer annual, multi-month or lifetime plans.
Netflix's US and UK pricing articles say the Basic plan has been discontinued and that you can change your plan at any time. In some other countries, India for example, Basic is still listed, with one device at a time in HD.
In some countries Netflix lists its prices in another currency, and the article's heading names it: Kuwait's reads Pricing (US Dollar) and Romania's Pricing (Euro). Our table shows those prices in the currency Netflix lists.
Yes, on the Change Plan page in a browser. Moving to a higher-priced plan takes effect at once, and you may be charged a prorated amount or see your billing date change. Moving to a lower-priced plan takes effect on your next billing date.
Go to the Manage your membership page, select Cancel, then, under Cancel, select Finish Cancellation; Netflix emails a confirmation. Netflix says this is the only way to cancel: signing out or deleting the app doesn't end your membership.
