  • Pay for Pro yearly

    Pro is the only Claude plan with annual billing: one upfront payment at a lower rate than twelve monthly payments. If you already pay monthly, switch under Settings, then Billing; unused time is credited to your first annual invoice. Max is monthly only.

  • Compare web and app store prices

    Anthropic states its Max prices for web subscriptions and says mobile pricing may vary by app platform. The table shows every channel side by side, so you can see where the same plan costs less.

  • Usage credits before a bigger plan

    If you only reach Pro's limits now and then, you can turn on usage credits and keep working at standard API rates instead of moving to Max.

  • No standing discounts, only official promotions

    Anthropic offers no standing discounts on Pro or Max, and its support team cannot issue coupons. Limited-time promotions are announced through official channels, usually apply only to people trying a paid plan for the first time, and are not available to App Store or Google Play subscribers.

Questions and answers

Do Claude prices include tax?

In the US, claude.com says its prices do not include applicable tax. Anthropic calculates tax from your payment method's billing address and says some regions include tax in the displayed price while others add it at checkout. Apple shows App Store prices with tax included everywhere except the US and Canada. Our table labels every price with its tax basis.

Is there an annual Claude plan?

Yes, for Pro only. It is billed once a year at a discounted rate, and you can switch from monthly at any time with your unused time credited. Max 5x and Max 20x are billed monthly only. Apple's App Store listing for Claude also has a yearly Pro subscription (seen in the US, UK, Indian, Australian and Canadian storefront catalogs on 24 October 2026).

What is the difference between Pro and Max?

Max gives five or twenty times Pro's usage per five-hour session, higher output limits, priority access at busy times and monthly API credits. Every paid plan also has a weekly limit, and your use on web, desktop, mobile and Claude Code all draws from the same pool.

Should I subscribe on the web or in the app?

Compare the prices first: Anthropic's Max prices are for web subscriptions, and mobile pricing may vary. On the web you pay by credit or debit card; in the apps, Apple or Google handle payment and receipts. Promotions do not apply to app store subscriptions, and moving from an app store subscription to the web means cancelling and resubscribing after the current term ends.

How do I cancel Claude Pro or Max?

On the web or the desktop app, go to Settings, then Billing, and click Cancel. If you subscribed in the iPhone or Android app, use Billing, then Manage subscription in the app, or your Apple or Google Play account. Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal; your plan stays active until the period ends, then your account moves to Free.

Can I get a refund?

Anthropic says payments are generally non-refundable unless its Consumer Terms or local law say otherwise. In the EEA and the UK you can request a refund within 14 days of purchase, prorated to your use. Apple decides on refunds for App Store purchases; for Google Play purchases, Anthropic support checks eligibility.

Can I use Claude for free?

Yes. The Free plan includes chat on web, desktop and mobile, web search, creating files and running code, memory and Artifacts, with lower usage limits than Pro.

Is there a Claude student discount?

Not for individuals: Anthropic offers no standing discounts on Pro or Max. Students get Claude for Education only through a university that has a Claude for Education plan.
